Marc Law, Senior Fellow at the Fraser Institute, is a Professor of Economics at the University of Vermont. An applied micro-economist
with interests in regulation, political economy, and economic history, Professor Law's research focuses on the regulation of food, drugs, and advertising as well as occupational licensing laws.He has published papers in The Journal of Economic History; The Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization; and The Journal of Law and Economics. He hold a PhD from Washington University at St. Louis and MAs from Washington University and Queen's University.

Robert A. Lawson is Clinical Professor in Economics, Jerome M. Fullinwider Centennial Chair in Economic Freedom, and Director of the
Bridwell Institute for Economic Freedom in the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. He earned his B.S. in economics from the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University and his M.S. and Ph.D. in economics from Florida State University. A Senior Fellow at the Fraser Institute, he has numerous professional publications in journals such as Public Choice, Cato Journal, Journal of Labor Research, Journal of Institutional and Theoretical Economics, and the European Journal of Political Economy. Prof. Lawson has served as President of the Association of Private Enterprise Education and is a member of the Mont Pelerin Society.

Nathaniel Li is a Senior Economist at the Fraser Institute. He holds a B.A. from the Fudan University in China and
a Ph.D. in Food, Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of Guelph. Prior to joining the Fraser Institute, he worked for the University of Toronto as a postdoctoral fellow and the University of Guelph as a research associate. His past research work has been published in many high-quality, peer-reviewed academic journals, including the Applied Economic Perspectives and Policy, Agricultural Economics, Preventive Medicine, and Canadian Public Policy. His current research covers a wide range of issues in fiscal, education, and labour-market policies.

Kristina M.L. Acri, née Lybecker, Senior Fellow at the Fraser Institute, is an Associate Professor of Economics and Chair of
the Department of Economics and Business at Colorado College in Colorado Springs. Her research focuses largely on issues related to intellectual property (IP) rights protection with a particular focus on pharmaceutical-related IP.Prof. Lybecker's recent publications include an evaluation of Canada's IP protection for pharmaceutical products based on international best practices, as well as examinations of alternatives to the existing patent system and the balance between pharmaceutical patent protection and access to essential medicines. She has testified in more than a dozen U.S. states on the economics of pharmaceutical counterfeiting and at the recent Trans-Pacific Partnership trade negotiations on the economics of access to medicine. Prof. Lybecker has also worked with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the OECD, and the World Bank on issues of innovation and international trade.She earned a B.A. from Macalester College and received her Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Paige MacPherson is Associate Director of Education Policy for the Fraser Institute. For many years, Paige has contributed policy analysis
and commentary to major media outlets and research organizations across Canada, focusing on education policy, fiscal policy and government accountability. She holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Calgary School of Public Policy and a BA from Dalhousie University. Prior to joining the Fraser Institute, Paige was Alberta Director and Atlantic Director for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, TV host and politics reporter with Sun Media and provided communications for the Atlantic Institute for Market Studies, where she founded a post-secondary student outreach program. Paige’s work has taken her from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

Preston Manning
Former Leader of the Opposition
Preston Manning served as a Member of the Canadian Parliament from 1993 to 2001. He founded two new political parties
- the Reform Party of Canada and the Canadian Reform Conservative Alliance - both of which became the official Opposition in the Canadian Parliament. Mr. Manning served as Leader of the Opposition from 1997 to 2000 and was also his party's critic for Science and Technology. In 2007 he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada.Since retirement from Parliament in 2002, Mr. Manning has released a book entitled Think Big (published by McClelland & Stewart) describing his use of the tools and institutions of democracy to change Canada's national agenda. He has also served as a Senior Fellow of the Canada West Foundation and as a Distinguished Visitor at the University of Calgary and University of Toronto.Mr. Manning is currently a Senior Fellow of the Fraser Institute and President and CEO of the Manning Centre for Building Democracy. The Manning Centre is a national not-for-profit organization supporting research, educational, and communications initiatives designed to achieve a more democratic society in Canada guided by conservative principles.Mr. Manning continues to write, speak, and teach on a variety of subjects including the revitalization of democracy in the Western world, the revitalization of Canadian conservatism, Canada-U.S. relations, strengthening relations between the scientific and political communities, the re-balancing of Canadian federalism, the regulation of the genetic revolution, and the management of the interface between faith and politics.

Gary Mauser
Professor Emeritus, Simon Fraser University
Gary Mauser, Senior Fellow at the Fraser Institute, is Professor Emeritus at the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University.
He received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and his Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine. He has taught at a number of schools including the Université des sciences sociales (France), l’Institut d’études commerciales, l’Institut d’études politiques, and Université Laval (Quebec City). He taught marketing research at Simon Fraser University from 1975 to his retirement in 2007. He has published extensively in academic journals, including, the Harvard Journal of Law & Public Policy, Journal of Criminal Justice, Journal of Consumer Research, Canadian Journal of Criminology, Government and Policy, Public Opinion Quarterly, and Applied Economics. He has been an expert witness on firearms and criminal justice issues in the Senate of Canada, the Canadian Parliament, the New Zealand Parliament, the Supreme Court of Canada, and the Ontario Superior Court. He is accredited as an expert in small arms control with the United Nations International Small Arms Control Standards (ISACS).
