Peter Holle
Peter Holle is president of the Frontier Centre for Public Policy, a regional think tank based out of Winnipeg. The Frontier Centre seeks to profile cutting-edge public policy thinking from around the world. Its research and education activities focus on several areas including performance-based government, social policy renewal, and responding to opportunities afforded by the open economy shaped by the technology revolution and the forces of globalization.
He is a management consultant with a background in the area of performance-based government. He is an authority on cost saving strategies in government and the innovative public sector reforms implemented in New Zealand since 1984.
Peter was a senior policy analyst for the Province of Saskatchewan in the 1980s where he worked on regulatory reform and the privatization of government services and assets.
He has a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. His articles on government reform have been published in various journals and publications.
Among his activities, from 1993 to 1995, Peter was the Provincial Director of the Manitoba Taxpayers Association where he helped shift the public debate on government spending and taxes; particularly with the implementation of Manitoba's rigorous balanced budget law, regarded widely as the most comprehensive and effective in Canada.
