College Lecturer, Department of Economics, University College Cork
Robbie Butler has been a college lecturer in the Department of Economics, University College Cork, since September 2006, completing his doctorate in 2013 under the supervision of Veblen-Commons Award winner Professor Geoffrey Hodgson. In October 2015, he was awarded the prestigious President’s Prize for Excellent in Teaching at University College Cork, becoming one of the youngest staff members ever to receive the award. He is currently completing a Masters in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (MATLHE). Mr Butler’s research interests are focused on institutional economics and the economics of sport. He is a founding member of the World Interdisciplinary Network for Institutional Research (WINIR) and is a member of both the International Association of Sports Economists (IASE) and European Association of Sports Economists (ESAE).
